Winelist at Vic's Classic Italian Steakhouse

CORK & CARRY
……………………………………………………………………………
Beginning January 1, 2007, Vic’s guests will no longer need to leave behind their unfinished bottle of wine thanks to a new law signed by Gov. Rod Blagojevich in 2006.

With the Illinois General Assembly’s passage of SB946 (Public Act 094-1047), a restaurant licensed to sell alcoholic liquor in this State may permit a patron to remove one unsealed and partially consumed bottle of wine for off-premise consumption, provided that the patron has purchased a meal and consumed a portion of the bottle of wine with the meal on the restaurant premises.

If you would like to take the remainder of your bottle with you at the end of the meal ask your server to package the bottle to go.  Your server will re-cork the bottle and then place it into a specially designed bag and seal the bag.  Your server will also give you a copy of your receipt which will show the bottle of wine and at least one entrée purchased.  Keep the receipt with the bottle. Wine that is resealed in accordance with the above provisions will not be considered an “unsealed container” for the purposes of Section 11-502 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.

Participating in this program is just another commitment we have to our guests’ enjoyment of fine wines with their meals.
